Surrey Youth Chess Matches 2008/9

Saturday 13th September. Under 18 team event in Berkshire. A 12 board event, including some U14 players. Details here

Saturday 4th October: NYCA Under 18 (8 board) and Under 14 (12 board) inter-county team championship in Birmingham. It is a long day, with 4 matches (45 minutes on the clock) so I plan to arrange a minibus to help with transport. We can field 2 teams if enough players are available.

Saturday 1st November: NYCA Under 16 (8 board) and Under 12 (12 board) inter-county team championship in Birmingham. It is a long day, with travelling and 4 matches (45 minutes on the clock). I hope to arrange a minibus to help with transport. If enough people want to play we will field 2 teams. For many year 7s this will be their first opportunity to play for a Surrey Youth Team.

SCCU Under 14/U90 matches Details of this tournament, open to those in year 9 and below with a rapidplay grade below 90, will be available in the Autumn. Teams have 12 players, and there are often playing reserves.

Sunday 7th December 2008: Under 14 team Surrey, Berks, Sussex and one other county at Wilson's School, Wallington.

Saturday 28th February ECF U18/U13 County Championship at Heator Moor Science College, Derbyshire We expect to enter teams in the U18, U18 minor and U13

Sunday 29th March 2009 SCCU U18 Jamboree at Wilson's School, Wallington. Last year we fielded a total of 4 teams. This coming year we will again expect to enter quite a few teams in the minor as well as an open team.
