Can you play chess? Then come to the Chess Festival!

Wilson 's Chess Festival is open to chess players of all ages and abilities. Entrants will be split into separate primary, secondary and adult sections, with ‘major' sections for strong players (normally with ECF grades) and ‘minor' for those with less experience.

Everyone will play 5 games during the afternoon and nobody is knocked out. Each time you will play somebody with a similar score to your own, and so most games should be between players of matched ability.

There will be trophies for the players with the highest scores in each group and for runners up.

Refreshments will be available in the school café so players might like to bring some money to buy drinks and snacks. Parents do not need to stay during the tournament but we cannot accept responsibility for looking after any child. Younger players are likely to prefer the presence of a known adult throughout the afternoon. There will be rooms available for accompanying adults who are staying. Only players and stewards will be allowed in the playing area.

Round 4: 16.00 - 16.30 Round 5: 16.45 - 17.20

Prize giving: 17.30 p.m.
